Title: SVP, Director of Integrated Strategy 

 

The SVP of Director of Integrated Strategy is a key member of the Patients & Purpose senior leadership team.  As the leader of Integrated Strategy department, you will spearhead the evolution of our strategic process and offerings to help our clients’ brands better connect with patients and engage patients on a path to wellness. 

 

You will build and mentor a strategy team to best-in-class that is the envy of the industry.  And, as part of our senior leadership team, you will actively contribute to our culture and help lead our agency overall go-to-market strategy.  You're a digital, strategic, qual and quant insights driven theorist who can take a great idea and bring it to life. You're passionate about leading and developing purpose led solutions. And the talent you've led will follow you into the most trying of situations because they know that with you they can't fail.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead brand teams in integrated strategy
    • Uncover customer insights and identify strategic opportunities based on these insights
    • Persevere in nurturing and championing the “big creative idea”
    • Lead brainstorm sessions that result in areas of opportunity for the brand, concept development for new products, holistic marketing ideas and innovative ways to reach patients, consumers or healthcare professionals
    • Design and manage research projects. Analyze qualitative and quantitative research results for agency and client needs, such as copy test results, MRI data, segmentation studies and consumer communications checks
    • Utilize proprietary and secondary research to identify and assess target characteristics and needs, strength of competition, and identify cultural attitudes and behaviors toward brands
    • Develop questionnaires (sample selection, data collection, analysis and report writing)
    • Use quantitative and qualitative data to unearth consumer insights and drive client decisions
    • Optimize the impact of customer insights in program development by inspiring and partnering with creatives
  • Lead our Integrated Strategy Team
    • Oversee two direct reports and integrate with other agency strategic service personnel
    • Actively develop, train, and mentor direct reports to continually improve output
    • Facilitate relationships with 3rd party vendors, medical institutions, potential alliance partners, and other agencies.
    • Work with Director of Client Services and Creative Director to ensure all accounts are staffed appropriately to meet client/project needs
    • Ensure that the Integrated Strategy Team maintains high quality work products
    • Evolve the agency’s strategic planning process to continually improve insight gathering, brand positioning, and creative concepting
    • Creates demand for Integrated Strategy contributions by demonstrating its impact on the brand and team
    • Actively grow the department through increased hours, and subsequent recruiting of Integrated Strategy staff
  • Participate in the agency’s Senior Leadership Team
    • Play an active role in defining/clarifying agency short- and long-term “Go-to-Market” strategy and suite of offerings
    • Play an active role in shaping and maintaining agency culture
    • Maintain relationships with staff across departments to represent their perspective in senior leadership decision-making
    • Ideate new offerings for the agency and spearheads their implementation
    • Actively network to open new doors of opportunities for agency growth
    • Network within existing clients to gain introductions to other brands and marketers
    • Lead strategy for most new business pitches

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7-10 years of integrated experience within an advertising agency either Healthcare or Consumer 
  • An interest in bringing new ideas to the table beyond the day to day brand strategy and communication planning
  • Capable of building relationships with clients at a senior level and the ability to build their trust to help to navigate their thinking
  • An avid follower of how marketing and advertising are evolving
  • An ability to work with creative teams to help them understand an insight and translate it into on strategy creative
  • Exceptional writing, communication and persuasive skills
  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences. MBA or Masters is a plus
